This Christmas was a bit different. Actually it was really different. Like I said in my last Vegas post, I was celebrating Christmas in Vegas, because I knew I'd be working Christmas day. Well... I did. And it was great, because this Christmas (day) I was stuck at work AAAAALLLLLL day long. Normally, if I have to work Christmas I'll work half a day or half my shift and go home. Not this Christmas. It was so busy. I almost regretted picking up a shift for a friend that does have young kids because I was stuck at work AAAAALLLLL day long. Flights were full, delayed, and even cancelled. It was horrible, but I'm glad that many passengers still had the Christmas spirit.
I really missed my family this year. I missed out on opening gifts. I missed out on Christmas dinner (even though Shawn was so sweet to bring me and my coworkers dinner at work) I still would've loved to be home with the family. I missed out visiting with extended families. I missed out on playing games with the family.... ehhh I just missed it all. But for some reason being at work and helping others get out to be home with their loved ones really made it all worth it.
I really can't complain though because I scored some pretty cool things for Christmas. My new hot tools curling iron I've been waiting for someone else to buy me because mine broke; my lovely mother got it for me. Really cute COMFORTABLE 1/2 cowboy boots 1/2 biker boots. I got some rockin' cute clothes from my girlfriends. Perfumes, lotions, and all that usual stuff. a new steamer because I HATE when my uniform is wrinkled. and most importantly.... my New Years Eve dress I've been bugging Shawn about. lol....
Thank You Shawnta Claus!! =) haha
Christmas was fun and also really different this year. I'm grateful that every year, with the help of others, I'm reminded of the true meaning of Christmas. To remember the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. It's always great to give back during the holidays whether through service or through gifts. Next year, I need to be somewhere warm....maybe Miami or Orange County?!
okay...that's all.... lol
ok...who's shawn? LOL Glad you still had a positive attitude while working. Grandma didn't make it home for Christmas either. BUMMER!
