I've been an aunty for a few years now and I absolutely love every moment of being an aunty. I love hanging out with my nieces and nephews and just love and adore the heck out of them. I love that I don't mind spending any money or any amount of money on them.... if I had all the money in the world it'd definitely be spent on them. I love the cute little conversations I have with them, and the silly things that come out of their mouth's seriously crack me up. I love how bright they are and how sometimes they'll listen to me instead of their parents ;) hahaha I especially love that they THINK that I'm such a cool human being. I'm in love with their little innocent and forgiving spirits. The fact that they love me no matter how I discipline them (when i absolutely need to) teaches and humbles me so much, I love learning from them and their own little personalities and characteristics. Most of all though, just the fact of them being an offspring of my sister/brother does it all, sends me right over the top.... I feel like they could seriously be my own.

[wrecked]
| ...at our latest appt, had to take the glucose drink... GROSS! but crossing we're good on gestational diabetes. |
Now if anything, I've noticed that in the past 3 weeks or so I've been an emotional wreck. I didn't say much because I thought it was the "wedding" stress that was getting to me (even though my wedding wasn't stressful to me at all haha). Then, after the wedding and even with starting marriage and all the changes that have occured I've been a pretty happy camper (you know if you follow my blog and/or instagram haha), it really has been great. But...... dun dun dun...... haha- I've realized that I get emotional about things I don't normally get emotional about.Did that make sense? lol.
For example:
Like I had mentioned in my post prior to this one, we attended Tehamatas Tahiti Fet this past weekend. We got there just as ages 4-5 were competing against each other. I was so excited to see them perform. After tearing up and then trying to hold back any tears, crossing my fingers no tears would fall (because that would just be so lame if I was crying at a tahiti fet lol) all I seriously kept thinking about was "I can't wait til my daughter enters these fets!!" lol... Or at least starts dancing. I pray that she'll be as passionate about dancing and singing as much as I am... or at least performing. I love performing so I hope if any of me rubs off on her, it's that. hahaha.. and if not then she better be a good athlete and competitive like her dad......lol and if not that then it doesn't matter, I will love her the same.
Another example:
Just between conversations I have with Shawn and others...but mostly with Shawn, I find that I get easily offended by things he would say, or says, which at any other time I totally wouldn't mind it...or I'd probably say something mean back haha. But I didn't, I was just offended. And I KNOW he didn't even mean it like that- it was the way I took it. So after being all depressed and offended for about 2 hours (haha) I realized this had to just be part of the pregnancy....or i hope at least haha.
Then I thought of Wirthlins talk and quote: "Come what may and Love it...." and I thought about my whole pregnancy. I've definitely had a good one that I can't really complain about and above all things just the experience alone has been such a beautiful one. Just the fact of knowing I have a little human being in there fascinates the heck out of me. Feeling her movements (even though they are keeping me up at night now) is such an amazing feeling. My weight gain, which I think has been the suckiest part of this, doesn't really bother me to much because I'd much rather be a fat mama than have an unhealthy baby.I'm glad my family is there for me and to have Shawn by my side the whole way just makes everything perfect.
Over all though, I really had to take a step back and look at this whole experience. I'm blessed and seriously can NOT complain about life at all right now. I will proudly admit praying together as a couple and fasting has really helped A LOT....more than I could ever imagine. And on the days that we forget to pray together.... oh how Satan works us. hahahaha...
| 28 weeks...entering my last trimester. |
I still can't even wrap myself around the fact that in less than 3 months we will meet our baby girl. She has no idea how much we're trying to prep for her to meet this world. I don't even think she knows how much in love I am with her and stoked to have her here. I also still hope she is down to enter competitions and just love the stage. ;) haha... So here's to baby girl....in whom we still don't have a name for. lol...

[ good movie/bad movie ]
I didn't make it out to Miami this weekend which kinda sucked because I have seriously been dying to go back. I think I'm destined to live there, I dunno. However, staying home wasn't so bad after all. My weekend has been pretty chill and suprisingly relaxing. =)))) I'm not a movie buff and prefer actually watching movies at home. Sometimes I'd rather be caught reading a good book on the weekends snugged up in my blanket instead of spending time or money the Cinema. But....this weekend was a bit different. I've been a bit hooked on the Hunger Games.....who hasn't right?? Well I was dying to watch the movie but refused to watch until I actually knew the story. So friday night we planned a date night and decided we'd go watch it. We watched it....................................and it sucked.
I personally didn't like it. I know the books always better than the movie but for real....I seriously hated the Hunger Games movie. Maybe it just wasn't what I expected and I remember thinking "wait...that's not how it was in the book" a whole bunch of times. I also thought it was too long. I personally like the HG's story and story line better than Twilight but I like the Twilight movies better, especially Breaking Dawn. I know that through time the HG's will improve just like how Twilight did, I'm just upset I didn't like the HG movie.
...it didn't just end there though...
Last night was the Tehamata Tahiti Fet here in Utah. Pretty good turn out for it's first one so kudos to Penny, Jual, and the Tehamata team for putting it together. Our girl we went to watch and cheer for didn't exceed to the next level.....(even though I think she should've since she was on point with the beat and very graceful) so Shawn and I dipped, went make up shopping (which I MUST admit i'm super proud of myself for only buying what I went for when I went to MAC....and no more.....if you know me you know that is impossible haha but I did good), and caught a movie. Yes, another movie. I don't know why I've been in such movie mode. We ended up watching The Cabin in the Woods. Three words for that: STUPIDEST MOVIE EVER! Really... When I figured out the whole motive and story behind the movie I was ticked and wanted to walk out. It was just plain dumb......but still I sat there lol. The movie finished and we were so annoyed.
1.) because instead of it being a horror movie it was just a horrible movie and plot
2.) I wasted 3 freakin hours of my life sitting in that movie theater watching this annoying movie that I can never....ever get back and
3.) I try my hardest to NOT watch R rated movies, but, this time I did and I regret it so bad. I'm so annoyed with myself for watching it knowing it was R rated and then it being dumb made me even more mad, I mean, if it was a good rated R show... lol. j/k ehhh...
Anyway, after watching both movies I found myself really irritated about the whole fact that movies now days suck. Even some of the ones in Red Box (well most). Lately (to me....generally just speaking of me and my thoughts, because I know A LOT of people loved the Hunger Games) it's like the more movies that come out the dumber they get. I can probably hand pick really good movies that came out within the past year. Maybe I'm just getting old since I'm also not to fond of the music they play on the radio now days. I mean come on producers... either step up your game or get out of the business. LOL j/k.... kinda.
...okay, that's my complaint for this weekends movies. haha. Other than all that it's been a good weekend. I was able to spend a good amount of time with my family and enjoy my date nights w/the husby. ;) haha.
Have a blessed week everyone.... =)

[ Time Heals Everything ]
I'm kind of lost for words. I don't really have the right words.....except that I am grateful for TIME. Time for making memories, time for enjoying the tiniest things to the most dramatic things in life, time to experience, time to reflect on life in general, but most of all for time to heal. Healing of emotions. I truly believe that if something happens or drives a wedge between you and someone you've been close to, it drives you apart, and talking doesn't solve anything......time surely will. And that's exactly what happened to me last weekend upon my trip to Reno.
I got the chance to mend things with a very special person in my life. I've missed her dearly- we had such a big disagreement a few years ago that led to absence in each others lives. Missing out on so many important things in each others lives. Not being able to share each others griefs....or happiness. How frustrating is that when it's someone you've actually confided in right? haha something I NEVER thought would happen to us since we grew up. I hated the time we didn't talk...but as hard headed as we both were we knew things weren't gonna change, and me being so hard headed and selfish, I was content with that. {shame right? haha don't judge me} It wasn't til a few events took place in my life this past year that I realized I wasn't helping the situation. I missed her. I loved her. and I knew all I was doing was WASTING PRECIOUS TIME, basically beating myself emotionally and mentally because I was so stubborn. After having a pity party because I refused to admit anything was my fault....I finally decided it was time. Time to not only give in and show my love towards this person (in a time I believe she needed the most love) regardless of the absence we've had in each others lives. Although we hadn't talked for about 3 years I felt I needed to be there for her. I wanted her to know that regardless of the differences we had, it didn't measure up to the love I had for her, and that NO MATTER WHAT, she was more important to me than ANY disagreement or childish argument....... talk about acting your shoe size instead of your age right? hah... {plz don't judge me...}
Let's just say things are mended and I couldn't be more at peace with myself about the whole situation. Time truly heals things....

[ diaries of a mad STANDBY passenger ]
Holy heck...right now I'm irritated to the extent, emotionally frustrated, and patience is at about a zero. Being an airline employee has it's many perks. I have fun at work, I get along with my co-workers, I enjoy the company of many passengers, I work under a remarkable management and station, I love that we give to charity both big and small, and best of all......I FLY FREE!!
I love to travel and see many things life has to offer and many of God's wonderful creations, I find myself truly blessed............................................................................................................................................................Now, we all know there's opposition to all things. Well in this case......full flights (although perfect for the company revenue) is definitely one of those oppositions. When we {standbys} fly, we take whatever seats available. Which most of the time works out fine because working in Utah {one of Deltas main hubs} make's it easy because it has so many flights in and out and direct that I rarely have to worry about getting stuck somewhere or something trying to connect. Therefore, when flights are full it's normally aaaalll good cause there's a next flight.Well with the events going on this weekend- that wasn't too much of an option.
I had blogged a few times before about my gorgeous cousin Kaitie gettin hitched out in Orlando this weekend. I've been looking forward to it for quite sometime now. I've missed this side of the fam a great deal, I haven't been to Orlando for about 9 years, I miss Kaitie and am extremely excited for her to start her new life as a wifey (whoa...sounds kinda weird haha) but yeah.....I've been super stoked for this trip. As times passed to prepare for this trip my parents decided they wanted to come to and of course when my parents travel Pili goes.
Anyway, long story short- with UEA going on this weekend flights are booked full from every city that flies into Orlando. They're all just completely booked......oversold.....zipped.....nada.......NOTHING! But do we try? Of course... because there are ALWAYS misconnects, late checkins, and people that just get lost in the airport- I mean, that is normally what we hope for on full flights when flying standby. hahaha... and we've been in the game now long enough we know how the system runs. So we sit at the gates, crossing our fingers, HOPING a miracle happens. Also since we're pretty good 'standbyers', we know how to occupy our time in the airport- hence the pictures off the webcam. haha
Anywho, instead of taking our direct flights to Orlando from Salt Lake we flew out here to Vegas because it had more seats available. Flew in this late afternoon, ate, slept, relaxed, laughed, and just spent time with family out here. [[THANK GOD FOR THEM BEING HERE!]]
We then RE-packed up and headed to the airport for the red eye flight to Orlando. We waited.......and waited........and waited.........then the gate agent finally calls our name.
I run up HOPING [once again] that we're good. I get up there and the gate agent tells me there are only 3 seats available. Mind you, we need 4. Pili was clear down the list so there was no way he was going to be cleared for this flight. In that last 5 minutes as we sat there trying to make a decision as to who was going to go since we could only send 2 and the other would have to stay with Pili, I saw Pilis eyes water up and he just started crying. My heart broke. I knew how bad he wanted to go to Florida, but this was something totally out of our control. I ended up sending my parents because 1.) Mom had to teach Kaitie a dance for her wedding and 2.) Dad needed to go......I guess LOL. Na j/k I sent dad because it'd be much easier for me to fly on a higher priority rather than leaving my dad and Pili w/pretty low seniority. =( So i stayed back with Pili. I know the gate agent felt terrible as well because Pili was just quietly saying to me thru his soft little cry "Aunty...I just want to go to Florida..." My goodness....I had to be strong even though I was about to just break. The agent left and to make sure all were onboard so she could at least send him..... unfortunately everyone was on board. =( And my parents were no help, walking away practically crying saying bye to Pili, I was seriously like "REALLY, who are the adults here?" lol....
After comforting my little man and getting him excited for a night full of fun at home Pili and I made a call and next thing ya know....we're back at the house eating Winchell donuts, Jack in the Box, Church's Chicken, and watching Red Boxes with Aunty Tina and Uncle TJ. haha... Tonight sucked for us as standbys, it really made me wish I was a millionaire with a private jet to fly anywhere. This is what I hate the most- not so much of ME NOT getting on but more of Pili not getting on after waiting for hours being super excited to go and then not getting on. I hate when things are out of my control like this. It drives me nuts. I mean, I am very grateful for my job and it's benefits but it's the downfalls like this that I can not stand. But......we expect that when we fly like that.
Tomorrows another day so we will be hanging out in Vegas til then.......wish us luck. Thank God Pili's such a great sport. XoXo....

[ spoiled much?? ]
Honestly, if guys dont know how to treat ladies then they should just be gay. Lol jk but seriously. Something funny happened this weekend that kinda opened my eyes and I realized how spoiled I actually was. Coming from a family who is imperfect in many ways yet perfectly loveable has really been a blessing in disguise. And I never even seen, until this weekend.
Shawn and I attended the last session of conference and being that it was General Conference we took forever finding a parking downtown. Oh how the devil works lol, it got a bit frustrating because not only did we have to walk like what seemed 2 miles up hill to get there from our parking, it was already 1:56pm by the time we found a parking and I knew we would miss the opening talk of the last session, I was pretty upset and Shawn knew it. hahaha poor guy. We finally got in {at 2:13pm) and was able to catch the rest of the session. It was lovely of course. I had to meet my cousins at the hospital immediately after conference to sing for one of our good friends who had been in a terrible car accident. So Shawn and I left after the last speaker that way we could walk our 2 miles back to the car and not get stuck in traffic. As we walked out of conference and back to the car my feet began to hurt. Now, I believe that good quality heels are totally worth paying big bucks for, because in times like this.....well you need your good quality shoes. Well.... my shoes I chose to wear to conference are pretty cute heels, normally really comfortable shoes, but today, they just werent. {insert Annoyed face.....oh and painful face lol}. So I took my shoes off and decided just to walk the rest of the way bare foot. Not a problem. So now we continue the rest of our 1.5 miles back...and now my feets burning because the grounds hot lol. and the whole time Im thinking... "okay, why hasnt this guy taken my shoes?" All bfs carry their gfs shoes..... right?? I guess not in this case. lol.... Then we get to crossing the road and Im on the outside of th road while Shawns inside. lol... Just to make things clear, its proper etiquette for guys to be on the outside of the road when walking with a girl.... ya know that considerate common sense stuff??! haha Well for some reason that just irrittated the heck out of me....but I didnt say a word.
The whole walk to the car I was thinking to myself...not out loud because that would just chase the beautiful conference spirit out. However, it was such an eye opener of how spoiled I had been all these years. Im not blaming Shawn for anything because like I always say EVERYONES DIFFERENT. Some people were taught to be a gentleman, some just learn on their own. I dont think its my place to tell Shawn how to be one but it really was awkward, and weird, and kinda shocking, but I am glad that I noticed how lucky Ive been to have a father, and brothers who are always being such gentlemen to us sisters.
Yes, we fight sometimes as siblings and have disagreements with my parents but its those small acts that really make me appreciate my family. That, I must thank my father for. Hes always doing the sweetest things for my mother. Lucky for us girls my brothers just automatically picked it up and treat us the same. Every time we fly out my brothers are always taking our bags, carrying our purses when we have to walk a long way or are wearing heels or dresses, they open the doors for us, they run back in the house and grab whatever I forgot, they bring in the shopping from the cars, they WALK ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE STREETS lol, they're always just lifting the burden from us. And a lot of times I really think it goes unnoticed becasue we're just so use to them being like that. We've gotten to the point where we just EXPECT them to act that way, but I honestly do notice it every time and am thankful for such considerate brothers. Another spectacular thing is, its not only with us, but they really carry it over with other girls, whether they be female cousins, friends, or just ladies in general....they help those in need to lift their burden. And I totally thought thats exactly how all guys...well most were. I was proven wrong this weekend hahaha .... so training for a gentleman will be in effect these next few weeks. You best believe my sons will be doing the same. hahaha....
Anyway, all jokes aside, that's really what it comes down to, being a gentleman to me, really means lifting 'HER' burden. And vice versa... but more on the guys side. ;) haha... I'm not downing Shawn (so much) because he really is good to me. He does so much for me and really is such a big help in lots of ways. He seriously has the biggest heart, I swear.....sometimes I feel like saying "OMG ITS OKAY TO BE MEAN!" haha... but really most everything he does is for my best interest and I'm grateful for that, it's just some of the things that i'm use to and expect, he doesn't know.........so that's why I'mma do some schoolin' here cause I am not walking 2 miles on the outside of the sidewalk carrying my own shoes anymore... ;p LOL.
K that's all....good night and Happy Monday! =) XoXo

[Forgive or Not to Forgive?]
I had a friend who dated my guy cousin for a few years and then got pregnant to my close guy friend. lol... funny? uh kinda... NOT REALLY. but everything happens for a reason right? RIGHT. Lots of mixed feelings arose between me and this gf of mine. I really did care about her, but the fact that she hurt my cousin and then ended up with one of my good friends kinda.......irritated the heck out of me. haha
{don't judge me, i'm human lol}
I was so upset with her because not only did she hurt my cousin but I felt she was so fake with me, knowing the 'whole' situation between me and this close friend of mine that she got prego to. I understand it wasn't just her...because deep inside I JUST KNEW that something was going on between him and her [thru rumors] and my gut feeling of course, but I'm not one to believe 'he say/she say' stuff so I never really took cautious. but even after this was brought to my attention, still I was thinkin'
"c'mon girl, have some class"
{....what did i say... don't judge me haha}
well it's probably been about 2 years since we've actually seen each other and talked. I will admit, I did have hard feelings that really were so pointless. I wasn't getting anything out of staying upset at her, in fact it was worse on my part. Why was I mad at something that was totally out of my control?! After a lot of thought, within those 2 years I've totally gotten over it (HALLELUYER), but never thought about how I'd react if I ever saw her again, face to face. Well....today I had the chance to see her. In fact, I checked her in to return back home. haha Awkward much?? YES, at first! hahaha. But to my surprise I was actually really happy to see her. I actually think I was too excited...she probably thought I was being fake. LOL. but oh well... i really wasn't. I was glad to finally meet and see her beautiful baby girl. We didn't talk much, but it sure was good to see her with NO hard feelings of any kind inside me. It was like a huge burden lifted off of me. And whether or not she hates me, I actually found myself happy for her. Happy that she's married to a good man, honestly hoping he makes her the happiest woman on earth. She's still very beautiful and I'm seriously so happy for her. I didn't want it to be really awkward and give her a big hug or walk her to her gate 'cause that'd be cheesy and just totally over the top haha.... but it was good to see her and I'm glad I got to tell her that.
Thank God forgiving isn't such a hard thing for me. I mean, I'm human, I do get mad and frustrated when people cross me over the wrong way. At times I do choose to get offended over something ridiculous, so quickly, and I end up feeling sorry after. But, I can admit I'm wrong when I am wrong (shawn may beg to differ though lol). When my visiting teachers came over yesterday we got to talking about how the spirit works in strengthening our families. I shared that I noticed when I do read my scriptures, I find myself more humble, forgiving, and calm when tension arises in my life. Gabby reminded that when we do have the spirit we are slow to anger, and that's so true. I think in this situation, for me I let my anger get to me much faster than stepping back and observing the whole situation. When I did, I got over it and realized that my friendship with this girl was far more important than any hard feelings I could ever have. I ended up upset with myself. haha... But i'm over that now, too..hahaha.
"I think [forgiveness] may be the greatest virtue on earth, and certainly the most needed. There is so much of meanness and abuse, of intolerance and hatred. There is so great a need for repentance and forgiveness. It is the great principle emphasized in all of scripture, both ancient and modern. Somehow forgiveness, with love and tolerance, accomplishes miracles that can happen in no other way."

[Rule #92 of a LADY]
Home wreckers....................................................................................................should be shot.
lol....okay maybe not shot because I truly believe in karma. And it will come back and bit you in your ass. =/
lol....okay maybe not shot because I truly believe in karma. And it will come back and bit you in your ass. =/
A home wrecker purposefully maintains a love affair with someone who is in a committed relationship.
Okay, that beginning was kinda rough, but it's true. Right now I should be packing for L.A. instead of blogging but this is something I seriously can not get out of my head at 1:22am. haha. I honestly don't understand girls...or guys that feel the need to come between or even think they should pursue a relationship with someone that is already committed......or even MARRIED {which is worse} to someone else. Like seriously.....WTF are they thinking? I mean, it's one thing to be hit on by someone if you're in a relationship, but to hit one someone that's married and strive to pursue it. OMH....that's just really mind boggling.
There are 6,951,810,190 people in this world (YES i googled that lol) and if you can't find someone outside of the U.S..... there are 311,861,736 in our country, so i'm pretty sure you can find someone else that is not in a committed relationship. But for those that think that it's okay to mess around with someone that is already in a relationship is so annoying to me.... you're annoying to me lol. I don't know if it's just now days or if this has always been the case but it's like guys/girls don't even care anymore if you're in a relationship. If they like you.....they'll stop at NO END to get with you.
My friend and I were talking about this not too long ago and she (who has bf) was telling me that even though she has guy friends, it's like they don't even care, they'll cross that boundary and remain persistent in maintaining a relationship. In my little itty bitty mind, I honestly only thought that was me because I never shared that with anyone. hahaha... like guy friends I did have that I thought were just my friends still tried to get with me KNOWING very well I was already with someone. I hated that because I seriously thought they were friends to just be friends..... but nope lol. But not to worry I laid it out straight and they got the point and know where I stand.
But this blogs not for them...this ones merely just me lettin' out some steam because I can't stand triccs that pursue "side" relationships. Knowing a guy has a girlfriend.... yeah, maybe they're having issues at the time, or maybe he's not happy AT THAT TIME...but to think that being the side girl is oookkkaayy really shows how stupid you are. And how desperate you are. After observing girls like this, I realize that it really is all a game to them, that messing with guys that are married or coming between guys that are in a relationship already is really just a high for them. They love that feeling. That's freakin disgusting and so trashy.
I mean, I KNOW it's not totally her fault because the guy is an eeeeediot if he doesn't put a stop to it, or doesn't leave his girl for this homewrecker, but to even give a man the time or day KNOWING he belongs to someone else is ridiculous. Side girls and side guys are seriously the most stupidest people in the world. LOL.
And I absolutely can't stand the ones that suddenly appear out of no where knowing you're right there, but passes by just so you can see em. It's like girlfriend...you ain't foolin' no one, you're the idiot that looks dumb. hahaha... oh my gosh- i better stop.
Now, I'm not fully talking about personal experiences that i've had because this has totally happened to me before and it's something both shawn and I had to face w/the opposite sexes, but it's done and over with and every thing is fine now. It's just some inside info and observing..... Just homewreckers in general. I see and know of these 'side' girls that think they're so fly and that they're the shiz because a "married" man or a man that's "taken" gave you the time of day......seriously honey, you are NOT fly and sooo NOT the shiz if you think that's cute. I really shouldn't dwell on people like that, but seriously......that's annoying. And I just had to let it out on my blog.
Thank You.... ;)

[sometimes, it better to be quiet...]
Being back from vacation sucks. I didn't want to come back to work after all the time I had off. Soon after my vacation check deposited into my bank, reality kicked in and I decided i'd start picking up shifts and take advantage of OT that was being offered. So, I picked up a shift at the gates.
Just a little FYI, flights cancelling due to weather AND mechanical problems is definitely a normality with EVERY airline not just us. But for some odd reason many people don't get that registered in their head. We're not gonna let you fly on a plane with weak brakes..... or a plane that has a broken cockpit button.......or a plane whose bathroom is in-op.........or a plane with no AC, I mean c'mon, are you serious?? Even with all the additional fees and charges, safety is our #1 priority. seriously.
well yesterday our Austin flight cancelled due to a mechanical problem. (sometimes I swear Skywest ONLY has broken planes) So as I'm sitting there helping people rebook and finding different routes to reach Austin, a gentleman comes up to me and is just freaking out because he was late coming in to Salt Lake due to weather in Newark. After about 10 minutes (that really seemed like 10 hourse) of trying to explain to him that there is no flight for the rest of the night, he wants a supervisor. I happily call a supervisor over because I wasn't going to deal with this passenger any longer. My supervisor comes over and politely tries to help him. After explaining to him AGAIN their conversation goes something like this:
Passenger:
"HAVE YOU EVER BEEN RAPED?!"
{who the heck says that?}
Sup:
"excuse me?"
Passenger:
"I SAID HAVE YOU EVER BEEN RAPED??.....that's what I feel like you guys have done to me!!"
(really guy??)
Sup:
So you're saying the equivalent of a cancelled flight is being raped?....i'm sorry sir that's not going to work"
and....then he got pissed again and the convo pretty much lead to him even angrier and a bunch of us employees laughing to ourselves (because of course we couldn't laugh in front of him) because we all knew where this situation would end up.
We take a lot of slack as airport customer service agents, especially when it's not our fault. I mean I do understand that as Delta employees we represent the company, flaws and all.....but being talked to like that- uh uh...sorry we won't tolerate such behavior (unless you're an unaccompanied MINOR lol). At the time it wasn't funny....but it turned out to be a laughing matter because not only did that gentleman get escorted out of the airport by security he also got his ticket refunded and had to find his way back to Austin himself. LOL....
sai aupito ehh?? ;) haha
Sometimes.....it's better to just be quiet- ;)

[outta the blue]
I had to blog about today just because it was an "outta the blue" day... I've been complaining so much to Shawn about everything that hasn't been going right.....meaning "MY WAY" and the poor guy just sits there and lets me vent....and vent....complain.....and complain....and vent some more. lol. My friends always tell me I'm a witch to him but it's okay, secretly I think he likes it. LOL j/k. Anyway, so with all my complaining within the past 2 weeks things weren't going very well so I decided that THIS week I'd try {keyword: TRY} my hardest to not complain, or at least ease up on my complaining to him. And to my surprise it actually has turned out great. Shawn doesn't know {or maybe he does notice, I dunno} but every time I feel like screaming at the top of my lungs because something isn't "MY WAY" whether it's with Shawn and I, or my friends, or family I sit back..think.......and then either compromise OR...let it go. I love it, it's totally making everything a bit easier and manageable with us. =) It's been great because it has allowed me to focus on more important things instead of focusing on why things didn't go "MY WAY".
Like today for example....
I woke up around 10, which is seriously so late for me. Mind you, I'm on vacation from work. I took my vacation week this week because I knew family would all be in for Frankies graduation and I didn't want to miss any of them....so that's why I'm sleeping in and ENJOYING. EVERY. SECOND! Anywho- I slept in, got up....so thankful my girls are here to do my hair. It seriously just makes life easier when you have so much hair and you have someone there to do it for you. if you ask me...so far vacations great!!! haha.. My cousin Ou from Oakland, CA is here she died my hair lastnight at midnight (poor thing) and my other cousin Ashley from Hawaii straightened it today. She's probably secretly complaining because she's been straightening it since she's arrived....and anyone that knows my hair knows these nappy roots ain't easy to deal with. So thanks to my girls for spoiling me ;)
I was able to run a few errands today, which is always nice to get out of the way. After the errands I ended up back at home with Pili {i love ending up at home with just him....one on one time w/this little guy isalways priceless}. i asked him what he wanted to do and he said he wanted ice cream. I wanted to walk. I was so bloated last week all I've been wanting to do is work out. Now....that rarely happens because for me, self motivation to work out just never seems to happen. So I wanted to take Pili for a walk. After about an hour of arguing about what we were going to do we finally decided that I would treat him to ice cream at Leatherbys (the BEST creamery in town) only IF he would walk with me there. LOL... My poor Pili didn't know how far the walk would be....but we did it. I was so proud of him.
As soon as we (Pili and I dragged uncle Frank with us) got into Leatherbys he already knew what he wanted. His BLT sandwhich with chips and what seemed like a mini Amy Hot Fudge Brownie. While we were there I got a phone call from my mom that she, ou, and Ashley were going to meet us there. Will and Lusi also showed up....haha so it was basically another family outing. Everyone was so impressed with how far Pili had walked just for ice cream. Fattys...I swear. hahaha It was all worth it. See....
It was so yummy.
We didn't end up walking back because I had to play taxi. =/ As soon as we got home I did all my laundry {i never do aaall my laundry in one day} so that is really good for me, I honestly don't even know how mothers do it. sheesh... I got dressed and headed out to Rugby. YES RUGBY. What the heck man... I never imagined that I'd ever go to one of these practices but my friend Mele invited me to come run with her rugby team. that was probably her way of saying "Leta....you are getting fat, come run!" lol... So I went today to just go run with them ONLY BECAUSE my cousins run the practice and so if I was hanging ugly, I wouldn't mind too much. LOL.. so I went and maaaaann I about died. Well, not so much me but my thighs, butt, and eeeverything below my waist was straight killin me, I couldn't even stand up. OH EM GEE..... hahaha My cousin Meti was a real sweet heart about not forcing me to do the runs or drills but I sure as hell felt like crap. haha.. I was so embarrased because normally I'm on top of things at any practice....or running drills in that matter. Ugh... I was so disguisted with myself. So there's my motivation to getting fit.... Thank You Pink Panthers. And maybe if I get in shape and quit being a chicken I may just play with these gals. =) I dunno... I still prefer dancing haha...
I got to visit my old neighborhood because I had to pick up Frankie. I got to visit a little with a family in whom we had grown up with. They were our family in our family ward (The Johnsons). I loved visiting with them the short time we did. It was seriously like no time had passed.
Frankies package came in today from Melia. Melia is seriously like my baby sister. Kinda like, if ANYONE messes with her I'll kill em kind of relationship. We've always been there for each other and even though she lives all the way out in Pittsburgh we're so close at heart and are always there for each other. She couldn't make it out to Frankies grad this weekend. {{insert SAD SAD face}} Frankie, Melia, and I have been so bummed. We seriously feel so complete when Melias here, so not having her come kinda pissed me off at first....then it made me sad....and i'm still sad. Frankie feels the same way...or should I say...FELT the same way, until today. Her shoes came in. Melia has this shoe fetish with designing her own Nikes online. Well she designed some Nikes for Frankie and the package couldn't have come at a better time. Frankie (along with the rest of us here) have fallen in love with the shoes....
What topped off the night was that after our walk to Leatherbys, a good sweat at Rugby, visiting old friends in the old 'hood ;p, and Frankie finally getting over being bummed we walked into our Florida family here. I love seeing family from afar. They came and brought Frankie's dress my aunt sewed her..... (pictures will follow soon). My aunt Laven is aaaamamamamaaaazing at sewing. Frankies dress is beeeautiful. I'm a tad bit jealous, but not for long because now i'm putting in my order with Aunty Laven as soon as i lose weight. ;p LOL...
oh yeah...not to mention these fellaz visited today.
Having the missionaries over is always lovely...they always seem to set the spirit the home needs at that time.
I know this was a long post but it had to be done. I honestly need more productive "outta the blue" days like this. I dunno maybe it's just productive because I have so much time on my hands. Or maybe I'm just noticing all the small simple things that really do mean a lot to me like how "my way" isn't always the right way, walking to get ice cream isn't that bad, if DYING at rugby is my motivation to get this toosh in shape-then so be it lol, and lastly I seriously have such an amazing family that supports me and loves me in all I do, whether they think it's best for me or not. If you ask me my vacation couldn't be getting any better than this...... Life is great yall!!!

[Friday Favorites: my GUITAR]
Do you find yourself, at times, just overwhelmed with emotions and ya don't really know what to do??
Well, I always find myself that way whether it be mad, happy, sad, loved, frustrated, excited, nervous, or ready to take on the world.............but mostly frustrated and/or nervous.
I'm the kind of person that doesn't like to dwell on things that are pretty much 'waste time'. I don't hold grudges..........at least not for too long lol. I just don't like the feeling of having that kind of burden on me. So I'm pretty easy when it comes to forgiving (which in some cases can be dangerous for me [insert sad face] ) those that trespass me and screw me over....try to forget it.....forget it.....but I will always stay cautious of certain situations. And instead of dwelling on things that are out of my control I've found that turning to something really helps.
For a while I wondered what that was. I could've turned to drugs like a lot of people do or some other kind of depressing thing but lucky for me I've always been surrounded by positive influences. Dancing has always been my way of getting any kind of emotions out. But now, since the travelling and shows have slowed down enormously in the past 2 years music and playing the guitar have moved into that #1 spot. And I absolutely love it, I don't mind it at all. I've found more things I am capable of and my creativity ability has broaden, it's pretty cool!! I still love dancing and that'll always be my first love but I enjoy finding new talents. =)
When I need to unload my emotions I turn to my guitar since there are about 5-6 in my house. For some odd reason when I play it's my way of unloading everything whether my mood is positive or negative at the time. Once I start to play I just go to a whole different level and my mind, heart, and soul find peace. I love that feeling. You might think, why doesn't she just pray?? haha well...I do, this is just a different feeling and I'm okay with playing and unleashing on the guitar. I mean, I'm not even nearly as talented at it as I wish I could be but it's I'm SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWLLY
getting the hang of it and getting a little better. But big thanks to my ever so talented daddy (Frank) who always seems like he's ready to slap me when I can't find the right chords yet never ceases to give up teaching me. LOL I love playing with him and my brothers when we all just sit around the house and jam. I sure wish I could take them every where I go in life that way I can always find peace with them......but I can't so my horrible playing will have to do for now....haha
So...no one has seen this video because I've kept it locked up in my computer for the longest time because I was so insecure about showing it to anyone but it's all good since I only have 32 followers and I know em all so I'm not too shame to have it on here....haha But I remember making this video when I had tonz on my mind and couldn't really find a way to let it out.....so I unloaded by doing my hair....then playing LOL..
Before you press play: PLEASE EXCUSE all the mess ups on the guitar {told ya I wasn't pro}, my not giving My All on the singing {this was suppose to stay out of the view of YOU}, aaand the wrong lyrics {I honestly never listen to the song past the first verse hahaha} maybe if I could play nearly as amazing as Karina does on the piano I'd know the right lyrics lol........oh yeah and the double chin ;).....

[A Mic and A Light]
This past week has been a pretty rough one and not even knowing it my cousin Tina called and invited me to come watch Gladys Knights show.
I seriously love her. She's such a great inspiration and her conversion and testimony are just amazing.
So my mom and I flew down to Vegas and watched
I seriously love her. She's such a great inspiration and her conversion and testimony are just amazing.
So my mom and I flew down to Vegas and watched
"A Mic and A Light"
held at the Tropicana. She was aMaMaMaaaZinG!!!
You honestly can't even tell she's 66 years old.
I absolutely loved the whole show, I was speechless the whole time.....i know weird right?? haha
I enjoyed every song but my favorite that night was this one
I enjoyed every song but my favorite that night was this one
We got the hook up. My cousins girlfriend sings soprano back up for Gladys and so Gladys' bodyguard was notified that we were there and moved us up a lot closer than where we were originally sitting. I loved it, I swear it made the show even better [besides the guy that kept coming to tell me to turn my camera off lol].
She's such a crowd pleaser and was just awesome to watch.
There was this part where she mentioned that music...plain music is just dying out. So many voice fillers, beat fillers, 80-90 dancers on stage, etc...etc... has taken place, and that she didn't have that kinda "firework" money so she decided to take it back to just a MIC and a LIGHT and just SING. Real Music. Real Talent. And that's exactly what her whole show was. It was just so legit. I loved every moment.
I guess I was really stoked because she's a legend. She was one of the artists that MY parents wanted to watch, and for me to be there sitting in VIP watching Gladys Knight perform the hits that I not only have on every one of my playlists but are the songs that MADE HER was really what left me speechless. lol... I guess that's what it'll be when my children watch Beyonce in Vegas in 30 years...LOL.
I love Gladys even more now.
**********************************************************************************
Besides the phenomenal show the following activities took place:
Arrived @ 9am and went straight to some $5 buffet in Green Valley.

Arrived @ 9am and went straight to some $5 buffet in Green Valley.
For some reason, when I get to buffets that look delish my eyes suddenly become enormously bigger than my stomach and I pile up food that I never even finish. bad...i know. =( But I do that. The buffet was yummy especially for being only $21 for 4 of us.
Shopping took place.
So I have to explain that this week was NOT one of my easiest weeks so to speak. {insert sad face} A lot of bickering was going on that really turned out to be A LOT of wasted emotions. {insert another sad face}.
Well, Tina knows me so well that she knows shopping therapy fixes everything (at least for the time being and a little more).......so that's exactly what we did. I was lucky enough to go on a shopping splurge/spree and I got these cute shoes. I have this thing with not only shoes but NUDE shoes, they seriously are my favorite, just 'cause they match eeeeerrr'fang. {insert HAPPY face FINALLY} haha..
After shopping we did pedis and hair.
We were so caught up in our convos I wasn't even able to snag a picture.
I drank the best boba {thai drink} I've ever had.
then..it was sushi time.
Sushi also makes things better.... so we had our sushi date..... TWICE before I left. haha.
The following day we didn't get on the flight which kind of sucked because I had to take the day off of work and I really didn't want to because I just can't afford to, but I believe everything happens for a reason so I made use of my stay in Vegas. hahaha. The Pure Aloha Fest was going on and that's what we had planned to do. J Boog, Fiji, and Kapena were all performing....sounds fun huh?? Well... it was a $40 admission and I refuse to pay that much to get into something that I get into FREE....most of the time. LOL Am I cheap or what?? hahaha
Luckily I got to meet up with my family from Samoa that had just arrived. My aunt Tina and her kids got in and brought a whole bunch of goodies, these were just my favorites:
Overall the trip was fantastic and was very much needed. I'm so grateful for my aunty Leta and Tina who made the whole trip possible. I know God's put every single person [in my life] there for a reason and this past weekend really showed me why these two and my mother are there. Like I've said many times before, I'm NOT lucky...I'm just blessed with the most amazing people in my life. =)
Xoxoxo... Life is great!

[Just an Idea for my frustration]
So there are a lot of people and things that irritate the heck out of me. I mean I know I can be really...... like verrrryy......extremely annoying to those around me (especially my family) and even to those who don't know me, but what can I say that's just little ol' annoying me so whatever. lol... I try to remember that when others annoy me but i'm human and i forget....and then I get irritated and that leads to me getting upset. =/ No bueno. Well since blogging and keeping a personal journal is not only advised by church leaders but also very therapeutic I decided to have em both, to free my thoughts, achievements, failures, blah blah blah...all that good stuff.
When I was younger my cousin Tangi gave me the bright idea of having 2 different journals. One to write all the positive things in and one to just vent all my frustrations, kinda like a hate journal I guess. I took her advice and had 2 different ones....not such a great idea tang...cuz my mom ended up finding my "frustrations" journal because it was just a notebook (i didn't want to make it too obvious that that was a hate journal hahaha) and I got "the talk" after that like I was gonna commit suicide or something....hahaha. Which quite honestly, I've always loved my life way too much that that idea NEVER even crossed my mind. haha.... but anyway so after "the talk" from mom I never kept 2 journals. Later found out from Tangi that I'm suppose to take that "frustrations" journal and burn it......because really all those bad venting entries will mean nothing....so in the end it wasn't too bad of an idea but to this day I still never had another "frustrations" journal. LOL...
Anyway, point of my story is that instead of unleashing all my frustrations through blogs and even in my own personal journals when I'm upset I take a step back.....and before I begin writing a turn on my 'Sunday Sounds' playlist. Just a mixture of all kinds of church music such as MoTab, One Voice, Musical Truth, etc... It really helps take away the frustration
of whatever and whoever is annoying me. hahaha... Do I have issues?? Uhhh maybe! LOL.
That bright idea came from this past week at work when Utahs bipolar weather was a bleh.... and almost every flight of the last bank came in late which led to me leaving work around 2AM. Anyway, with all the frustration that night my boss (DrEw) who also happens to be my cousin had a mixture of church and classical music playing in his office. Surprisingly it calmed my nerves....and work wasn't so bad after that. So I figured if that could make me feel that way then what better way to blog/write journal entries when frustrated to that particular kind of music??!! =) Geeez....I'm a genius right?? hahaha.. Nah j/k.... It really helps. Because I was full on irritated about something and someone that I wanted to just write a blog and blast this person.....but thanks to The Wolfgramm Sisters rendition of "Did You Think To Pray"....that blog didn't get published!!! ;) So try it when you're frustrated. i promise it helps, you'll even notice how blessed you are and realize that what you're facing at that time of frustration is just a moment. =)
This video always comes to mind when I write in my journal and it's so true. I love the way it makes me recognize His hands in my life every day. =) Try it.....

[Spring Break can jam it...]
Dear Spring Break,
Most years, I like you. But this year...... I really, like majorly, dislike you. Every single flight has been oversold by 4+ because of you. In fact, I had to pay off a poor old lady $1000 because I had no seat for her to Oklahoma City, I mean seriously, who goes to Oklahoma City?? ;) Why does everyone want to take trips eeeevery where in the world and visit their families in all the small towns. Seriously, who does that?? (haha)
Not only that but everyone is freaking out on me like it's my fault that the flights are full and oversold. And I just hate it when I'm helpless and can't accomadate or do anything for my needfull passengers.
I mean, most of the time, because it's so repetitive all the yelling, venting, cussing me out, and all that jazz goes in one ear and out the other, but when I have to be the bad guy and force someone to get off of a plane after they've purchased a full fare ticket because my good friends here at Delta oversold the flight and there are no more seats for a few days (....uuuggghhh)I just want to scream and blame you for ever happening. Because if it weren't for you no would go anywhere....and Delta would have no money.....and my pay would be cut. LoL. ;)
Did I mention that I get frustrated when I can't help someone out??
Yes, I do and that's why I'm complaining.
Also, not to mention ALL the standby passengers travelling during your time. Asking how does this flight look? How does that flight look?? Honestly, I think everyone travelling during your times seriously on drugs.
Anyway

I know if you don't happen next year a lot of people will be UNhappy....but can you just NOT happen....for me???
please????
K thanks....
Yours Truly,
Leta =)

[off timing]
Soooo...i just returned from Hawaii and it totally screwed my sleeping pattern. It's 4am in Utah.
This is just midnight in Hawaii.
Every night I was up past midnight in Hawaii....and now................I'm paying for it. I just want to pull my hair out and scream.......If I don't make it to the gym tomorrow morning, this is why...

[I'm blessed, Yes]
Yesterday was Sunday. I didn't get the chance to attend church because I worked. I did have time though during my breaks and also when I got home to discuss different things with my parents that I've had on my mind. Things that I have reflected on and thought about many of times after a certain conversation I had with an old friend a few months ago that continues to boggle my mind. The thing I got out of that particular conversation though is that I've recognized my own blessings {BIG TIME} in my life when I compare it to hers...or anyone in that situation.
Within' the past 6 years my friend and her husband have become very wealthy because of his occupation. Financial security has never been a question for her before she married him and even til now, but she explained that although the money is great, and 'the life' is great, fun, and grand, the heartache isn't worth it most of the time.
After hearing that and seeing the situation first hand, that kind of bothered me. I thought about a lot of things. I just brought it up to my parents and they agreed with me and the way I felt.
My parents traveled a lot when they were younger dancing on the road. They were exposed to what we'd call it now days 'the good life.' My mom explained that they were never rich but the people they were constantly around were. And I could definitely attest to that with my own experiences on the road. the shows we do aren't for just anyone. They're for businesses and private parties for people with money, so I know what my mom's talking about.
My hot sexy mama had many opportunities to marry a wealthy man that could provide her with fine things of the world. She said that as she looked back on her life, she's forever grateful for the faith and the prayers of her father while she was out on the road for many years. With all the different opportunities her and my father were exposed to as far as taking drugs and living a life with no morals she was grateful they didn't take advantage of it. And that even though we've been poor our whole lives, living a poor life with the gospel and it's influence in it, is most definitely preferable than the life the world calls 'living the dream' =/
And that's so true, there's no competition there at all. Not one bit. I'd rather be a poor faithful woman with the gospel in my life, than a rich woman dealing with the heartache that comes with a lifestyle that doesn't include the gospel. I mean, shoot, I don't mind doing both but ya know what I mean??! haha
Knowing who you are, your purpose on earth, and living your life in a way to return to our father in heaven in the next life is the greatest knowledge. Like my mother, I'm grateful to my father for his faith, love, and perserverance in the gospel, and also the testimony he has of it. I am truly blessed. and......
Life is good..... =)
