[PAC 12's gon' GET IT]

Now days I'm sleeping on less and less sleep because of how crazy life's been, but still, I am NOT complaining. With everything going on in my life the past few months I've realized how precious time is. Whether it's spending it with loved ones, working, going to school, doing projects, etc...etc.... it's precious.
So lately I have to really be cautious of how I spend MY time.

The reason why I even bring this up is because college football starts tomorrow and it's our first year in the Pac 12. Excited much? OOOOOOOHHHHHH YYYYEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS....
Shawns been working really hard since he's been up at the U, but especially this last season, you have no idea. He walked on at the U because he wasn't fortunate enough to receive a scholarship =( (boo utah lol), even though I believe this boy of mine totally deserved one over some of the idiots that take their own scholarship for granted. Since footballs started this year he's been so die hard, it's kinda funny and cute at the same time. I'm just like "YOU GO BOOOYYY!!!"
I mean even though half the time I get confused in his football stories about what happened on the field that day, I'm always happy to hear em because of the excitment in his voice. I am though a bit embarassed to say it, but I haven't been very fair the past 6 years in attending his football games. It wasn't that I wasn't interested or didn't want him to play, but more so, I was busy myself. I was always traveling, working, in school, doin' music, and most importantly... I knew it'd drive my parents nuts if I went out to Snow every weekend for games. haha...
I knew he loved the sport and was very passionate about it. I totally supported him 100%, like he did with me and dancing (the reason I was always traveling). So it was a mutual understanding, but little did he know it was tough for me and I still haaated missing his games. =( So this year I have to make TIME for him....he doesn't know....but I promised myself that I'd try {KEYWORD: try} my hardest to make it to every one of his games [even the out of town ones] which I know may be impossible sometimes but I'm totally gonna try to make the effort to go. My ultimate goal though, is to make it to EVERY home game. Believe it or not, that's a big deal haha and he's gonna love it. hahaha...

Anywho......putting all the gayness aside, yesterday at practice he was awarded a scholarship. (him and my cousin Tauni, who tooootally deserves it too)  Words can't even express how happy I am for this guy. He totally deserves it with his hard work. I'm glad he's been very persistent in working hard on that field. He's always telling me how he really has to go out of his way to PROVE he wants to be there, and that all paid off yesterday, and I'm super super suuuuper happy for him. Not only that but I am thrilled to see what this year brings for our Utes. A lot of folks are doubting our boys, but NOT ME, especially after seeing their scrimmage. Besides the Mountain West (who I happen to still have mad love for, were totally overlooked on our talent, friggin' haters) wansn't bad at all. Our boys will rock this year......................and if they don't..... whatever I don't care, I'm still a die hard UTE!!!

I'm tired as heck right now, but I can't even sleep I'm too excited for tomorrow (while Shawns been knocked out for the past 3 hours) haha...

[outta the blue]

I had to blog about today just because it was an "outta the blue" day... I've been complaining so much to Shawn about everything that hasn't been going right.....meaning "MY WAY" and the poor guy just sits there and lets me vent....and vent....complain.....and complain....and vent some more. lol. My friends always tell me I'm a witch to him but it's okay, secretly I think he likes it. LOL j/k. Anyway, so with all my complaining within the past 2 weeks things weren't going very well so I decided that THIS week I'd try {keyword: TRY} my hardest to not complain, or at least ease up on my complaining to him. And to my surprise it actually has turned out great. Shawn doesn't know {or maybe he does notice, I dunno} but every time I feel like screaming at the top of my lungs because something isn't "MY WAY" whether it's with Shawn and I, or my friends, or family I sit back..think.......and then either compromise OR...let it go. I love it, it's totally making everything a bit easier and manageable with us. =) It's been great because it has allowed me to focus on more important things instead of focusing on why things didn't go "MY WAY".

Like today for example....

I woke up around 10, which is seriously so late for me. Mind you, I'm on vacation from work. I took my vacation week this week because I knew family would all be in for Frankies graduation and I didn't want to miss any of them....so that's why I'm sleeping in and ENJOYING. EVERY. SECOND! Anywho- I slept in, got up....so thankful my girls are here to do my hair. It seriously just makes life easier when you have so much hair and you have someone there to do it for you. if you ask me...so far vacations great!!! haha.. My cousin Ou from Oakland, CA is here she died my hair lastnight at midnight (poor thing) and my other cousin Ashley from Hawaii straightened it today. She's probably secretly complaining because she's been straightening it since she's arrived....and anyone that knows my hair knows these nappy roots ain't easy to deal with. So thanks to my girls for spoiling me ;)

I was able to run a few errands today, which is always nice to get out of the way. After the errands I ended up back at home with Pili {i love ending up at home with just him....one on one time w/this little guy is always priceless}. i asked him what he wanted to do and he said he wanted ice cream. I wanted to walk. I was so bloated last week all I've been wanting to do is work out. Now....that rarely happens because for me, self motivation to work out just never seems to happen. So I wanted to take Pili for a walk. After about an hour of arguing about what we were going to do we finally decided that I would treat him to ice cream at Leatherbys (the BEST creamery in town) only IF he would walk with me there. LOL... My poor Pili didn't know how far the walk would be....but we did it. I was so proud of him.

As soon as we (Pili and I dragged uncle Frank with us) got into Leatherbys he already knew what he wanted. His BLT sandwhich with chips and what seemed like a mini Amy Hot Fudge Brownie. While we were there I got a phone call from my mom that she, ou, and Ashley were going to meet us there. Will and Lusi also showed up....haha so it was basically another family outing. Everyone was so impressed with how far Pili had walked just for ice cream. Fattys...I swear. hahaha It was all worth it. See....

It was so yummy.
We didn't end up walking back because I had to play taxi. =/ As soon as we got home I did all my laundry {i never do aaall my laundry in one day} so that is really good for me, I honestly don't even know how mothers do it. sheesh... I got dressed and headed out to Rugby. YES RUGBY. What the heck man... I never imagined that I'd ever go to one of these practices but my friend Mele invited me to come run with her rugby team. that was probably her way of saying "Leta....you are getting fat, come run!" lol... So I went today to just go run with them ONLY BECAUSE my cousins run the practice and so if I was hanging ugly, I wouldn't mind too much. LOL.. so I went and maaaaann I about died. Well, not so much me but my thighs, butt, and eeeverything below my waist was straight killin me, I couldn't even stand up. OH EM GEE..... hahaha My cousin Meti was a real sweet heart about not forcing me to do the runs or drills but I sure as hell felt like crap. haha.. I was so embarrased because normally I'm on top of things at any practice....or running drills in that matter. Ugh... I was so disguisted with myself. So there's my motivation to getting fit.... Thank You Pink Panthers. And maybe if I get in shape and quit being a chicken I may just play with these gals. =) I dunno... I still prefer dancing haha...

I got to visit my old neighborhood because I had to pick up Frankie. I got to visit a little with a family in whom we had grown up with. They were our family in our family ward (The Johnsons). I loved visiting with them the short time we did. It was seriously like no time had passed.

Frankies package came in today from Melia. Melia is seriously like my baby sister. Kinda like, if ANYONE messes with her I'll kill em kind of relationship. We've always been there for each other and even though she lives all the way out in Pittsburgh we're so close at heart and are always there for each other. She couldn't make it out to Frankies grad this weekend. {{insert SAD SAD face}} Frankie, Melia, and I have been so bummed. We seriously feel so complete when Melias here, so not having her come kinda pissed me off at first....then it made me sad....and i'm still sad. Frankie feels the same way...or should I say...FELT the same way, until today. Her shoes came in. Melia has this shoe fetish with designing her own Nikes online. Well she designed some Nikes for Frankie and the package couldn't have come at a better time. Frankie (along with the rest of us here) have fallen in love with the shoes....

What topped off the night was that after our walk to Leatherbys, a good sweat at Rugby, visiting old friends in the old 'hood ;p, and Frankie finally getting over being bummed we walked into our Florida family here. I love seeing family from afar. They came and brought Frankie's dress my aunt sewed her..... (pictures will follow soon). My aunt Laven is aaaamamamamaaaazing at sewing. Frankies dress is beeeautiful. I'm a tad bit jealous, but not for long because now i'm putting in my order with Aunty Laven as soon as i lose weight. ;p LOL...

oh yeah...not to mention these fellaz visited today.

Having the missionaries over is always lovely...they always seem to set the spirit the home needs at that time.

I know this was a long post but it had to be done. I honestly need more productive "outta the blue" days like this. I dunno maybe it's just productive because I have so much time on my hands. Or maybe I'm just noticing all the small simple things that really do mean a lot to me like how "my way" isn't always the right way, walking to get ice cream isn't that bad, if DYING at rugby is my motivation to get this toosh in shape-then so be it lol, and lastly I seriously have such an amazing family that supports me and loves me in all I do, whether they think it's best for me or not. If you ask me my vacation couldn't be getting any better than this...... Life is great yall!!!

[not a fan of BYU, but i am a fan of their Honor Code]

All this ruckus going on about Brandon Davies being suspended because he violated BYU's honor code is giving me a headache. I am not a fan of BYU (okay BYU rugby is my only exception because of family on the team), never have been, especially being a Ute fan my whole life (not just within the past few years)...but I am a fan of BYU's honor code. I love it. It's everything the gospel stands for. As athletes/students accept and take on scholarships and/or enroll there, they automatically become an ambasador of the church.....or BYU, so they know very well what they're getting themselves into. I'm not going to sit here and bang on Davies for his mistakes because I am far from perfect but he knew what he was doing.......and that's on him. He's the one that'll pay for the consequences, not the rest of the world that has everything to say about the church and WHY they've suspended him for his actions. I wish someone would interview me, I'd say, "EEEEHHHHH JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE ALREADY..." hahaha Just like Harvey Unga and a whole 'lot of people that have broken the honor code before, and I highly doubt Davies will be the last I'm grateful that BYU is not backing down, over seeing this, or even trying to throw it under the bus until basketball season's over. I'm ashamed of some fans and members questioning why BYU couldn't wait this suspension until the season was done.....really?? c'mon now...
Maybe we seem prideful as a church and too 'old fashioned' for the 21st century.....but, like President Hinckley said, "....we are a peculiar people...."  and situations like this... standing up for what we've always believed is what continues to make us a peculiar people. I wouldn't have BYU or the church have it any other way.  So kudos to you Cougirls!!! ;) haha j/k I commend the leaders for standing up for the honor code and for our beliefs.
I love the way Vai Sikahema put it in this interview. As much as it may hurt the basketball team, it's good to know that winning games isn't the top priority at BYU...and that's great, even though the BYU vs. UTAH football game shows different. lol...

....bLaCk & YeLLoW.....

So if you know me, my sister, my cousin Magic and his wife Tini, my cousin Lee, and our east coast fam you know our love for the Pittsburgh Steelers goes to infinity and beyond. Magic and Tini hosted our small Superbowl party, and they were some dang good hosts, no wonder no one can stay away from their house. Thanks Magic and Tini!! =)

Love the Terrible Towel!!

Our Hosts... fixing yummy fried won tons and mochiko chicken =)

......into......
......the......
.....GAME!....

Unfortunately all of our Steeler fan love couldn't win the game... we lost to the Greenbay Packers... how sucky is that? Okay, it wasn't as sucky as the half time show but they won off our own mistakes. (our 3 turnovers)....but oh well, a win's a win right? And it was Greenbays. They played amazing, no one can deny that, but did that phase us Steeler fans??? HELL NO!

Can you tell we love our Hines?? ;)

Even after the game we still celebrated, bumpin' 'Black and Yellow' like we just won.. LOL. We still got mad love for our Steelers....better luck next year.

....this is STILL a Steeler Country! ;)
Next championship?? LAKERS....

BTW, my favorite Doritos commercial was the Doritos one. haha

{Lakeshow}

Today definitely made it on my list of
"Top 10 worst days at work"
I had the worst headache because I slept in sooooooooooooo late (4pm) and then I have to work 'til 1:30AM....YES A.M.
*sigh*
poor me right? lol
I was so irritated the whole time
until about 8:30pm when I sat down to watch the Lakers play the Jazz.

And then my day got a whole lot better, because like I had predicted,
we SpAnKeD the JaZz!!
Up by 30 at the half, 27 assists by 3rd quarter, Lamar Odoms off balanced shot that got Jack off his seat, and an ending score of 120-91........oh gosh. They weren't giving anything to the Jazz.
I was loving it. haha

Don't get me wrong, I cheer for the Jazz when they're playing anyone else but the Lakers. But because eeeveryone here in Utah hates the Lakers more than life itself...I enjoyed celebrating and rubbing it in tonight!! haha
Is that evil??
...NAAAAAAAHHH...
lol
it's all a game anyway.

SUPERBOWL XLV

I guess I called it right.... Steelers kicked the Jets butt.
Okay we didn't kick their butt, just the first half we did. As painful as it is, the first part of the game reminded me of the Utah-TCU game when they just killed us... but then the Jets came back the second half, which made the game a bit more exciting. Gladly, Steelers still won so
Sorry bout it Jets....

So...on we go to the Superbowl to kick some cheese head butts!! ;)

This is a Steeler Country!

Sunday, January 16, 2011

Told ya...

This is a STEELER country!!

We had a rough start but, came back the second half and tore it up. the Ravens defense was on point, but even with their tough defense Steelers still got in the winning touchdown, that ended the game with 31-24.....Steelers favor!!!! :)

What a beautiful night it was.

Whenever I have shows and the Steelers play....and win (which is most of the time)- Those are one of the best performances and shows. It's crazy... Love the Steelers!!

Next win..... PATRIOTS!!
