[ good movie/bad movie ]

I didn't make it out to Miami this weekend which kinda sucked because I have seriously been dying to go back. I think I'm destined to live there, I dunno. However, staying home wasn't so bad after all. My weekend has been pretty chill and suprisingly relaxing. =)))) I'm not a movie buff and prefer actually watching movies at home. Sometimes I'd rather be caught reading a good book on the weekends snugged up in my blanket instead of spending time or money the Cinema. But....this weekend was a bit different. I've been a bit hooked on the Hunger Games.....who hasn't right?? Well I was dying to watch the movie but refused to watch until I actually knew the story. So friday night we planned a date night and decided we'd go watch it. We watched it....................................and it sucked.
I personally didn't like it. I know the books always better than the movie but for real....I seriously hated the Hunger Games movie. Maybe it just wasn't what I expected and I remember thinking "wait...that's not how it was in the book" a whole bunch of times. I also thought it was too long. I personally like the HG's story and story line better than Twilight but I like the Twilight movies better, especially Breaking Dawn. I know that through time the HG's will improve just like how Twilight did, I'm just upset I didn't like the HG movie.
LionKing's one of my favorite movies, just felt the same
with my whole "bad movies" experience this weekend lol.

...it didn't just end there though...

Last night was the Tehamata Tahiti Fet here in Utah. Pretty good turn out for it's first one so kudos to Penny, Jual, and the Tehamata team for putting it together. Our girl we went to watch and cheer for didn't exceed to the next level.....(even though I think she should've since she was on point with the beat and very graceful) so Shawn and I dipped, went make up shopping (which I MUST admit i'm super proud of myself for only buying what I went for when I went to MAC....and no more.....if you know me you know that is impossible haha but I did good), and caught a movie. Yes, another movie. I don't know why I've been in such movie mode. We ended up watching The Cabin in the Woods. Three words for that: STUPIDEST MOVIE EVER! Really... When I figured out the whole motive and story behind the movie I was ticked and wanted to walk out. It was just plain dumb......but still I sat there lol. The movie finished and we were so annoyed.
1.) because instead of it being a horror movie it was just a horrible movie and plot
2.) I wasted 3 freakin hours of my life sitting in that movie theater watching this annoying movie that I can never....ever get back and
3.) I try my hardest to NOT watch R rated movies, but, this time I did and I regret it so bad. I'm so annoyed with myself for watching it knowing it was R rated and then it being dumb made me even more mad, I mean, if it was a good rated R show... lol. j/k ehhh...

Anyway, after watching both movies I found myself really irritated about the whole fact that movies now days suck. Even some of the ones in Red Box (well most). Lately (to me....generally just speaking of me and my thoughts, because I know A LOT of people loved the Hunger Games) it's like the more movies that come out the dumber they get. I can probably hand pick really good movies that came out within the past year. Maybe I'm just getting old since I'm also not to fond of the music they play on the radio now days. I mean come on producers... either step up your game or get out of the business. LOL j/k.... kinda.

...okay, that's my complaint for this weekends movies. haha. Other than all that it's been a good weekend. I was able to spend a good amount of time with my family and enjoy my date nights w/the husby. ;) haha.

Have a blessed week everyone.... =)

[ good hair ]

So I've always wanted to do a vlog just because they seem so fun and seem a lot faster than writing a blog, but when I saw myself on camera I decided I'd hold off the vlog until this cute double chin of mine is gone. =)

Unfortunately I was the sister that was blessed w/the wacky polynesian nappy roots. Frankie has beautiful THICK long hair that can grow for days no matter what she does to it. Lusi has the natural curls and still doesn't have white hair... wth man? Me... well, because I have the ugly curl at the top, wavy, frizzy, and fluffly down to my neck and then pin straight from there down. {NOT. CUTE. AT. ALL.} I have to keep up on good quality hair products and tools. With all the damage that I've done to my hair just so it could look half decent I'm lucky I'm not bald......yet. (crossing fingers lol).

I've heard that it's good to switch up your shampoo once in a while. With my last visit to Taylor D'Shaw my hair dresser confirmed that. She gave me a shampoo that would help keep the red in pretty well, or at least  until my order of Pureology {insert EXCITED face}  came in. I like to stay loyal to the brands I use and because hair products can get pretty expensive, I buy em one at a time and I can get pretty shady w/them lol. This past holiday season I've been blessed........yes blessed. haha I've either got em as gifts {not sure if that was a hint? lol}  or they just magically appeared in my shower. =) Not sure if I'm complaining or if I'm bragging but yeeeah....here are the following shampoos I've been switching back and forth from most of Nov/Dec and now.... and my locks are actually still pretty healthy. Lucky Me ;p

These are the ones I got from Saydee for my red tips. =)

Love the smell of Biologe and the magic it works....just wish it wasn't so much.

If you think Biologe's hair products are good, try their body lotion. Smells so yummy, soft, and keeps my dry skin moisturezed ALL DAY! No Lie!

Paul Mitchell...my cousin Ash got as a gift. I never reall used Paul Mitchell til now, and I actually like it.
Thanks Ash ;)

and my all time fave..
Thanks to Uncle Biu!

The thing I love about Uncle Biu when he buys Pureology is he doesn't buy the smaller bottles, he always gets the big huge ones. If you know or use Pureology you know that it's like GOLD for your hair. It's really pricey but w/our hair hook up we can get it at it pretty decent price for 2. Pureology is bomb because it's really concentrated. I love that I only use like a pump and half for all my hair. I know I probably sound stupid talking about shampoo lol but it's amazing those big bottles can last me almost a year. Totally worth it. haha...

Okay- so to the point- if you're looking for good shampoo, these are my suggestions and my 2 cents. lol.

[ love these.... ]

It's Sunday.
I just woke up from my Sunday nap (@ 9pm).
Had a long (5 nights) of singing so my throat is sore. =(
I'm lazy.
I have a toothache.
Don't want to get ready to go to club T w/everyone else that's here for conference. haha
Although General Conference was lovely, my notes are all kinda scattered so once they're organized I'll be posting another blog. So stay tuned. haha
Ready to fall back asleep because I don't want to eat late
.....so.....
what better way to spend my time than blogging?! haha

Here's just a few things I absolutely adore. =)

RED LIPSTICK & NUDE SHOES
Red lipstick was always a MUST for shows. While all the other girls would wipe theirs off as soon as our show was done, I always kept mine on....NO NOT BECAUSE I WAS CHEEKY, but because I had swag (back then...now i am just plain boring lol). Red lipstick always looks good on brown skin. I think it's very classy no matter what you wear... and that brings me to exactly why I love NUDE shoes, theyre miracle shoes. If you own a pair of nude shoes you know they go with eeeverything. They also longate my short little legs....

False Eyelashes......they're fun.
And during shows I don't have to put on as much eye shadow.
I totally dig bold eyeshadows right now.
Anyone down for a make up party??? ;)

Small skinny belts....make my gigantic waiste look smaller.
I love simple outfits.

2 facts: Greens my favorite color & I love shoes.
No doubt about loving shoes, but lately I've had a
'green' shoe fettish. Maybe I should get green boots for fall????

Besides being in love (and refusing to use any other as my main make up) with MAC,
I love everything PINK that they make.
My last pink blush (from the Wonder Woman Collection) I bought is so much fun for blush and eyeshadow.
Funny thing is, I don't even like to wear pink. I'd much rather wear any other color, but lately I've been wearing PINK lipgloss and blush. Doesn't look as good as red, but it's so sassy and actually looks good in pictures {for me lol}.

Eating healthy is actually more fun than I thought. My mom ran a little babysitting thing out of our house when we were younger so we always ate nutritous meals. As I got older I totally slacked. Ate out more, ate more fatty foods, and over all...I completely just ATE MORE. haha... and the results in that {GETTING FAT} forced me to go back to eating healthy. hahaha...
Farmers Market's going on downtown and what's better than buying good FRESH food?! I've been trying to watch what I eat, and although I am guilty of giving in at times Ive been really trying to eat better.
I feel better when I eat better [or healthier].

Something kind of nerdy, but I actually like taking pictures for my blog. haha... I have a Nikon camera I got about 3 years ago and it's pretty good. But my cousin that moved in with us this past summer has a nicer one. I'm not a photographer or editor of any kind but I do like capturing 'the moment'.... especially the unplanned moments....and sharing them. So I've been using hers. Maybe when I get rich (keyword: WHEN lol) I will buy my own nice camera...til then my phone, my Nikon, and Ash's Nikon will have to do for my blog. hahaha

Do you believe in Magic?
haha...that was our theme for Miss Utah (when I ran back in 2009). I love Disney everything. I like Disney World much better than Disney Land though.... The last time I went to Disney World was back when I was 15 I think. I loved it, and I know when I return in 2 weeks for my beeeeautiful cousin Kaities wedding I will still love it. haha..
I'm so excited to go, hopefully I can take Pili and LaVona with me.

Last but not least..... I've been debating on what I want to do with my hair. I want to change it up. I've been keeping it black just because it's easy to care of, always looks healthy, and doesn't look to greasy if I haven't washed it for more than 2 days. I've always been safe with all black, however, I was thinking maybe do highlights again, but... I'm kinda over that. I don't wanna look like everyone else with their dark hair and highlights. Soooo poly...soooo boring! lol j/k so I thought maybe dark chocolate on bottom and lighter brown on top (kinda like Beyonces in her performance of Love On Top, announcing her pregnancy) but...changed my mind again because after wanting that it was like every girl I saw had that in already. ZzZZzzZzz.... right??? haha...
Well, I finally decided what I'm doing. talked to my hair gal and asked her if she could do it. What kinda question was that....of course she can.  So hopefully I can get this in before I leave to Florida...

It's different but I love it. I wanna keep my hair dark (get back to natural) but I do want some color in it.  And what better place to put em than the tips? haha Only because I'm a cheapo and am too lazy [and broke] to keep up with dying my roots. Lol...

Well there ya go... just a few things I just adore... what's yours?

Oh one more. Kinda weird because I AM NOT.....I repeat myself I AM NOT getting married anytime soon, but I've had this thing where I've just been browsing...looking...admiring... wedding dresses. Who does that when they're not even getting married?? lol... I've always liked looking at wedding dresses. I love white and I love dresses. But I've never actually looked and browsed for different wedding dresses. So here ya go... one of my 2 faves I've found online.

Aren't they beautiful?
I totally dig the mermaid dresses. Even though I'd like to lose weight and get more fit, I have come to accept my body. My mom always told us that if we wear fitted clothes that shows our figure that will help us stay small. Now if you see my sisters and I, we're far from 'small' hahaha but that's so true. I've always worn fitted clothes and that's probably why I love the mermaid style. I love women that can show off their figure.... (not outta pocket kinda showing their figure lol, but ya know what i mean)
And that's the reason why there will be no wedding anytime soon for me, as soon as I can pull off that look, I'll be ready. LOL j/k. I really like the styles of these dresses though. I mean of course mine will be modest ;) hahaha but i'm just sayin'. lol.

There ya have it....I'm done blabbering about things I love and adore lately.

[Cake Pops]

Remember a few months ago I posted about cake pops? Well i blame those delicious things for my 30lb weight gain over the past 9 months. I laid off of em (also because starbucks quit selling em at the airport......thank you Jesus lol) but within the last few months they've become "the treat" to make.
Last night I had dance practice. Lucky for me, it was held at my cousin Kuuipos house. She is 'The Homemaker of America' that i hope to be someday. Anyway, she taught us how to make cake pops....as well as home made soda. ((told ya she was Miss Homemaker))

To my surprise they were super easy and really fun to make. :) of course they turned out delish, and i already cant wait to make some more. Only down fall is that it seriously takes up all my points for the whole week plus the next for Weight Watchers lol.........sorry booouuut it haha...

[HAiR]

I like changes...well most at least. Lucky for me changes with my hair have never gotten out of hand. I always hated my hair but through out the years I've learned to ACCEPT IT....bushy, nappy, and all. But more importantly to get along with it. A big thanks is owed to my own personal hair dresser/stylist, Saydee (who manages Taylor D'Shaw Salon). She's the bomb. I love her. I like to change the color of my hair and as many times as I do she never gives me hard time about it. I ask for her opinion since SHE is the pro, and every time I take it I end up preeettty happy with the turn out.

Well before Miss Utah (back in 2009) I had black hair [blue black to be specific]

I wanted to change it up for the pageant but was advised to look as natural as possible (even though I look more Indian than Polynesian in the picture above haha), so with my roots all grown in my hair looked as natural as possible and ended up leaving it for the pageant. =/ It drove me crazy because I was so sick of the black because I had it in already for a little over a year. Also, prior to the black I had highlights....red...auburn....light brown...etc... so a week after the pageant I made an appointment and dyed my hair.
Once again, I took Saydees advice and put these highlights in:

isn't she awesome?!

I loved em. I kept up with them, but then I got bored with them. If you dye your hair a lot you know how addicting dying your hair can be, well it is for me anyway.
After a few months of keeping up with my highlights I decided to tone it down a little because fall was approaching and I didn't want to have a bright head during the winter...
sooooo I toned down to kind of a reddish-cinnamon color...

It was a fun color but I didn't like all that red so I toned down even more... lol (dramatic right? haha)

As you can tell, as the pictures keep goin', hair color changes, and I get chubbier...maybe I should go back to blonde?? lol

I actually enjoyed this color a lot. It was like dark brown mixed with some reds. It was perfect for fall and winter. So i left it in, but once again got bored with it.
Now,  the thing that I absolutely hate about my hair is that when it's NOT scrunched, curly, bushy, and aaaalll natural it gets greasy so fast, I blame the products and tools I use but I refuse to go out in public with out using any tools or product. LOL
I also know that washing your hair every day isn't healthy for your scalp because your hair needs those natural oils and all...but I can't go more than a day with out washing, especially when I have all sorts of colors in my hair. =/
Soooooo... I had to go back to black
Plus I needed a new hair color for the new year and new season. =)
Therefore...I'm back to black. Cut my layers back in and am happier than ever with my hair.
Thanks Saydee! =)

The thing I love the most about black hair is that it doesn't look as greasy when it really is.I can go at least 2-3 days with out washing and not have to worry about it looking all greasy. Yes, so basically I'm hiding my greasy head with my black hair. LOL. Black hair just looks much more healthier than the blonde or red streaks.
PLUS....black is more sexy!
and... brings out the wild side. Not that I need to be any more wild than I already am...haha
Also..I think it's pretty fun for spring.
I plan on leaving the black in for a while, but who knows, maybe by the time summer comes I'll have some crazy color added to my hair.

BTW, when I went to dye my hair black the new feather extensions had just come out. Saydee was showing them to me and I wasn't to fond of the feathers but then I seen how it looked in Saydees hair again and I just fell in love with it.....so I got feathered up before the 801 Groove concert.
Thought it'd add a little bit of spice to my dull outfit. hahaha It's super fun too... =)

I got a bundle on the top and also on the bottom behind my ear just to longate the feathers in my long hair.

I promise I didn't just post all these pics of me because I wanted to, (i mean it's MY blog so i can put as many pics up as I want lol), but more so to show you examples of my different hair colors. Why?? eeeehhh I dunno... probably because I love my black hair and feathers!!! Dass why!! haha...

THE END.

[nails and manipulting?! lol]

I have a bad habit of biting my nails, only when I'm nervous, stressed, or have a lot on my mind....and that's almost always. HAHA
I always have....and I hate it. I've attempted many times to paint them that way I won't bite em but...uhhh..... FAIL! lol.. For the past month though, I've been growing my nails out and it's been enjoyable. I get to paint my nails between flights or when I'm bored doing absolutely nothing.
See...
[Watermelons]

[Some Pink and Black design]

[Leahs OPI Nail Lacquer in dark gray]

I'm no where near professional, nor do i have a steady hand....shoot- I can barely paint with my left hand with out painting all over my right hand fingers lol... But, I love changing and practicing different designs. =)

Funny Story:
So as I'm sitting here blogging at my gate my co worker (an older gentelmen about 60ish) asks me if I'm those were my nails in my pictures.
coworker: Are those your nails in those pictures??
Me: (proudly answering) YES!
coworker: do you like to paint toes?
Me: No. I hate toes. If it's not a pedicure or shawn massaging my feet...I'll kick you. but uhh no I don't paint my own.. How bout you??
coworker: Umm no..if anyones going to manipulate my body, I wouldn't have it be my toes.
LOL... what the hecks that suppose to mean??

Happy Day Bloggers!! =)

[cake pops]

So....this weeks obsessions are: Cake Pops.

[found ONLY at Starbucks!]

With me trying to lose weight and all for the upcoming wedding in April, this is the wrong thing for me to be obsessed with. hahaha....but they are so delish. =/ I mean, they're only 170 calories....and for me that's good because I'm normally getting a drink from Starbucks with like a trillion calories. haha... I decided it'd be better for me to eat 3 at the most per day, rather than 3 drinks full of sugar per day like I use to. haha
So far I've been stuck on JUST WATER......yeah can you believe that. i hate water....I always have to have something sweet. but i've cut down...especially on the Starbucks and that's a miracle for me, my health, my weight, oh yeeeah....and my bank account. hahaha.... But these cake pops are just so scrumpscious.... I LOVE EM!!! They come in 2 flavors: Rocky Road and Birthday Cake (well those are the only ones that the airport carries anyway) my crew and I at work are stuck on em.

Try em if you haven't alreay\dy..........and if ya do end up trying them, get me one while you're at it.

[throw it in the bag]

I normally carry a humongous purse. Something that'll fit eeeverything in it from my big make up bag to church books and the latest fashion magazines to black tights and tanks to shoes and even my lunch for the days I double. YES..that big of a purse. Might as well carry a duffle bag right?? haha..

I decided that I wasn't going to take a big purse on this last trip because I already had so many things to carry since I was travelling with my 3 year old nephew, so i grabbed my black clutch and put it in my carry on. I used the clutch the whole time in Hawaii and to my surprise I was only carrying around my main necessities from my normal purses, such as:

  • Perfume/Body Spray (Ed Hardy, Sexy Little Thing by V.S., or DKNY) to keep me fresh
  • MAC studio fix, plum blush, blush brush and eye liner
  • Dolce and Gabbana mascara (thanks Kass, I LOVE IT)
  • Bobby Pins for the fly aways
  • Headphones
  • Drivers License
  • Bank card because I can't carry cash because I'll spend it too fast.
  • Car/Wall charger
  • Work Badge and ID because I get some good hook ups when I show it at selected places
  • Gum
  • Hater Blockahz (a.k.a. sun glasses)
  • Gold Bond hand sanitizer and moisturizer
  • Bath and Body Works cashmere vanilla had lotion
  • Pens (for writing and to put hair up)
  • Bath and Body Works Mint chap stick and Lipgloss.
  • Extra pair of earrings/studs
  • Wipes
  • My Life.....i mean my 4G Galaxy Vibrant phone ;)
  • and also my ipod
(both aren't photographed because I used my amazing phone to take this pic and Pili was playing with the ipod)
and last but not least
  • ALOHA SHOYU PACKETS...YES shoyu, I can NOT eat rice w/o Soy Sauce.

I was pretty excited that these were really the only things I need/use in my purse. Coolest thing is that they all fit into that one clutch. So from here on out I won't be stuffing my whole room into one bag. haha...
Thankfully my boy Jake modified and hooked up my ipad so it has about 600 books on it, the Gospel Library, Fahsion Magazine apps, My Favorite movies and TV shows including all episodes of 'Pretty Little Liars', Games, NETFLIX, music, music videos and eeeeverthing else on it. Luckily the ipad fits in all my purses so besides the items above I'm all set and won't be carrying around a 20 pound purse anymore. ;)

[..i cheated...]

I've been a faithful user of Apple's iPhone for the past 2 years. Not once did I have a problem with it. I absolutely loved it, I still do. I will never talk Apple products down, especially iPHONEs. They seriously are the most legit and dependable phone out there. Unfortunately, mine broke on me 2 days ago. I turned it off and when I tried to turn it back on only the apple screen appeared. I tried troubleshooting it, reseting it, and everything else possible to just turn on to its normal screen, but I was S.O.L. lol....

I got the iphone 4 a while back, but supposedly there's no program to unlock it to t-mobile, so as soon as I came to senses that I really was S.O.L. with my phone not responding to anything, I wanted to cry. lol... yes for real...I wanted to cry. But, I needed a new phone and I had a full upgrade just waiting for me at t-mobile for the past year and half. I finally decided to go and get my upgrade. I got the new galaxy phone that came out that same day. It's an android... Honestly I don't even know much (until now) about androids besides the fact that it's in competition with the Apple iphone. haha....... As far as market wise....androids trump Apple! Androids market is insanely bigger, and growing twice as fast. The thing I love the most about this phone is that the majority of the apps that I use and like are free....yes FREE! it's awesome. I love the iphone and would recommend it to anyone, but I think I'm slowly, BUT SURELY falling in love with the android. I seriously feel like I'm cheating on the iPhone because I was totally against any other phone. But, I guess you can just call this 'testing the waters'.....and that's okay..... right?? haha..Hopefully all works out between us two, or I'm going back to the iphone, like I did my bf. hahaha....

Okay that's all...

[Latest Obsession....being a NINJA]

A few months ago it was Beyonces World Tour dvd....

...apparently I'm two thousand and LATE because I started playing Ninjump and Fruit Ninja....... just recently. Only because I can't make it to most of the game nights with my friends and it makes time go by pretty fast between flights, therefore.....

..... it's become my latest obsession.
I'm still a  rookie, so give me some time until I start posting my scores.lol j/k. I really would love for my obsessions to be scrapbooking and home making. You know something along the lines of doing something USEFUL, but, I think blogging can substitute for scrapbooking for now and I don't have a home of my own, so home making and being crafty can wait.
Til then.....I'll just stick to being a ninja. ;p

That's all....

Get on THIS LIST!!! =)

Hello my 4 followers... LOL hopefully we'll get more here soon...

Thank goodness for work...or shall i say thank goodness for EMAIL AT WORK!? I love my job, it definitely keeps me entertained with
every issue...
every day...
every reservation...
every flight...
every delay
every bag...
every passenger...
oh and i must not forget...
every coworker but don't get me wrong I'm not complaining. At times work can just really get to you, whether you're having a bad day because you're late, your boss is being a jerk, or in my case flights are delayed and there's bad weather... STILL i am NOT complaining!! haha
Anyway, with all that I find myself still sane because of a certain group of people- MY EMAIL LIST!!! =)

The email list consists of 8 very cool people all connected in different ways. They might kill me for shouting them out on here but it's all good they can just email me their complaint. LOL It started off with just a few of us emailing back and forth and we figured since we all knew each other we'd stick everyone on a list and just "REPLY ALL" to continue conversations. We've been doing this for the past 2 years and it's helped our slow days at work go by much quicker than they normally would if we didn't email.
Everyone... well mostly everyone on email are open minded and we decided that the EL (Email List) is a NON JUDGEMENTAL place. Everything that's said on there.... stays on there. hahaha The friendship and relationships that have grown from the email are amazing. I look at all of them like life long friends... well probably because i'm related to alomost all of them. LOL The coolest thing is, because we all converse on the email list EVERYDAY we share our different opinions about various things and perspectives of life, we share coupons, great deals, and we actually even hang out and work out together. hahaha Might sound cheesy but we all enjoy eachothers company....WHEN we get the chance to actually chill. We all try and support each other in the different decisions we make and it's funny to hear everyones two cents... lol

Anyway, i could go on and on about the email list but the one thing i wanted to point out is that....the reason i'm starting up this blogging thing again is because it came up during email and I thought i'd start this up AGAIN. We'll see how long this one lasts...hahaha Therefore my FIRST shout out is to the EL!! (Yes... we made an acronym for EL and lots of other things lol) I'm grateful for each and everyone of them for their examples, advice, and friendship. If you are interested in getting on THIS LIST shoot me your email address and we'll take a vote to see if you are welcomed!!! LOL
